Lake George GPS Event 2013
Event Description / Notice of Race
The Lake George GPS Event is a speedsailing event organised by Windsurfing SA that starts January 1, 2013 and ends March 31, 2013.
Lake George provided outstanding conditions for speed sailing in early 2012, and there is much anticipation about the speeds that can be achieved there this coming summer. The open time frame of the event will allow you to chase the optimum conditions to achieve the best speeds.
A current Windsurfing SA membership (or similar interstate membership) is required to compete.
Winners will be announced in each of the 6 GPSTC categories.

- Max 2 second speed
- 5 x 10 second average
- Nautical mile
- 500 m alpha racing (50 m)
- 1 hour
- Total distance (within a single calender day)
Lake George, Beachport, South Australia. Sessions can only be posted using data from middle lake and the main lake.
GPS Units and Data Analysis
Speed measurements must be made with Locosys Navi GT-31/GT-11 GPS units using Doppler mode, and posted within 10 days. To ensure uniform analysis parameters, tracks must be uploaded to http://www.ka72.com/, and the calculated speed results posted to the event on GP3S . All results must be posted by March 31, 2013, 8 pm South Australian time (GMT+10:30).
Safety
- Speedsailing can be dangerous, you enter this event at your own risk.
- In
participating, you agree that safety of yourself and others on the lake
is of paramount importance, and that you will always render assistance
to anyone needing help.
